Middle Eastern Hospitality in the Heart of Bali: Jumeirah Villas SWRO Project

Middle Eastern Hospitality in the Heart of Bali is more than luxury living—it is a showcase of sustainable innovation. When Jumeirah Villas Bali partnered with Gapura Liqua Solutions (GLS), the goal was clear: secure a sustainable seawater desalination system that supports 140 cliffside villas overlooking Jimbaran Bay without overburdening Bali’s limited freshwater sources.

BOO Contract and SWRO Desalination System in Bali

GLS was awarded a Build-Own-Operate (BOO) contract to design, build, and operate a Sea Water Reverse Osmosis (SWRO) desalination system. With a 400 CMD capacity, the system guarantees long-term water supply for the resort under a 10-year agreement.

For context, BOO models are widely used in water infrastructure worldwide to improve efficiency and reduce client risk (Veolia Water Technologies).

Technical Design and Middle Eastern Hospitality Standards

The desalination plant integrates advanced reverse osmosis membranes and pre-treatment technology to ensure low turbidity, stable SDI, and long membrane life. This approach aligns with the values of Middle Eastern hospitality in the heart of Bali: reliability, comfort, and quality for every guest.

SWRO technology is recognized globally as the leading method for seawater desalination (ScienceDirect).

Sustainability and Water Treatment Supply Services

By using desalination, Jumeirah Villas reduces reliance on groundwater and municipal systems. GLS’s Water Treatment Supply Services ensure the resort operates with environmental responsibility while maintaining luxury standards.

Globally, hospitality resorts are under pressure to adopt eco-friendly infrastructure, and desalination plays a key role in achieving sustainable tourism goals (UNWTO).

Conclusion

The collaboration between GLS and Jumeirah Villas Bali shows how industrial desalination systems can deliver sustainability while elevating luxury. Middle Eastern Hospitality in the Heart of Bali is now supported by innovation, performance, and responsible water management.
